It was the year 1973, when Kumar Prakashan was founded on a very small scale by A. P. Shah. In the beginning, college reference books were published. In 1988, ‘Kumar Prakashan Kendra’ was founded by (Late) Shri. Arunbhai Shah through his incessant and untiring efforts. Initially, Five Star Test Papers for Std. 10. were published, which enlightened the dark and endless path of students appearing for Board Exams all over Gujarat. Gradually, reference books for different years of the colleges of Gujarat University and North Gujarat University were published.

In 1993, Syllabus of Std. 10 changed. We took this opportunity to publish the first ever Reference Book for the students appearing for Board Exams.

In 1997 “Darpan” Book was published for the first time by us for Science and English subjects of Std. 10. The following year i.e. in 1998, inspired by their overwhelming success, we published the full range of “Darpan” Books for Std. 10. Demand for “Darpan” Books for other standards arose from all the corners of the Gujarat State. Hence, scholars in the form of expert authors, specialized in their respective fields and Darpan Research Team, assisted in publishing “Darpan” Science books for the standards from 8 to 12, Five Star Test Papers and Scholar Paper Bank.

Today we publish “Darpan” Books for Std. 8 to Std. 10 (All subjects) and Std. 11 and Std. 12 (Science stream) besides Reference Books for GUJCET Exams every year, under the banner of “Kumar Prakashan Kendra”. Our “Darpan” book of Computer (Std. 1 to Std. 12) is renowned for its contents and is accepted as authenticated source of knowledge of computers by all leading educational institutions of Gujarat.
